AEA Technology - Formerly part of the United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority, AEA Technology plc describes itself as an international science and engineering services business which solves technical, safety and environmental problems for nuclear and other industries and governments around the world. Includes company press releases and detailed portfolio of products and services.

AREVA - The AREVA group was formed through the merger of all CEA-Industrie, COGEMA, FRAMATOME ANP and FCI operations. In the nuclear sector, AREVA provides services for every aspect of power generation. From uranium mining through to site clean-up and decommissioning, for power plant construction or fuel fabrication.

AREVA NC - A wholly owned subsidiary of the AREVA group, this is an industrial group active in the energy sector offering electric utilities all over the world a full range of products and services for nuclear power generation. AREVA NC's operations range from uranium mining, conversion and enrichment through to spent fuel reprocessing and recycling.

AREVA NC Inc - This AREVA subsidiary supplies uranium products, as well as conversion and enrichment services, to 80% of the nuclear power plants in the USA.

AREVA NC - La Hague - The AREVA NC La Hague site in Normandy, France, reprocesses spent power reactor fuel to recycle reusable energy materials - uranium and plutonium - and to condition the waste into suitable final form.

AREVA NP - The company is involved in the design and construction of nuclear power plants and research reactors, engineering, instrumentation & control, modernization maintenance and repair services, components manufacture and supply of nuclear fuel.

Belgonucleaire - The company has been involved in the design, testing and fabrication of MOX fuel since it was established in 1957. Belgonucleaire's engineering office is involved in various activities: design and construction of MOX fabrication facilities and waste treatment installations, and fuel consultancies.

BNFL Group in Japan - This website provides information on BNFL Group's activities in Japan.

British Nuclear Fuels plc (BNFL) - The company's activities span the entire nuclear energy cycle, from reactor design and fuel manufacture to nuclear site decommissioning and clean-up. The BNFL Group comprises the following businesses: British Nuclear Group (including Spent Fuel Services), Nexia Solutions and Westinghouse.

Comurhex - This AREVA subsidiary is a converter of natural uranium into uranium hexafluoride (UF6), a product used to fabricate nuclear fuel. Comurhex also recycles uranium from used fuel. The company conducts its operations at its two sites in southern France: Malvesi and Pierrelatte.

Converdyn - Information on the Denver-based exclusive agent for uranium conversion sales from the Metropolis, Illinois works, and information on the processes used at Metropolis.

Duke Cogema Stone & Webster (DCS) - DCS is a consortium providing services to the US Department of Energy including design, construction and licensing of a mixed oxide fuel fabrication facility; the fabrication of mixed oxide fuel; and the irradiation of that fuel in commercial nuclear reactors.

ENUSA Industrias Avanzadas S.A. (ENUSA) - ENUSA procures enriched uranium for the 9 Spanish NPPs, fabricates PWR, BWR and VVER fuel mainly for the European market and develops different activities related to enviromental services, logistics, sterilisation and nuclear medicine.

KEPCO Nuclear Fuel Co (KNFC) - The company was established in 1982 as Korea's first and sole nuclear fuel company. Since its foundation, KNFC has provided all nuclear power plants in Korea with nuclear fuel making it responsible for 40% of the nation's electricity use.

Mitsubishi Corp - Within the huge Mitsubishi Corp, Mitsubishi Nuclear Fuels Co manufactures fuel and other items for pressurised-water reactors. Most of this site relates to the parent company and the whole corporation rather than to Mitsubishi Nuclear Fuels.

National Enrichment Facility (NEF) - Louisiana Energy Services (LES) has chosen a site in Lea County, New Mexico, 5 miles east of the city of Eunice, to build a gas centrifuge uranium enrichment facility. This facility - the National Enrichment facility (NEF) - will provide the USA with a domestic source of enriched uranium for the its commercial nuclear power plants. LES is a partnership of major nuclear energy companies.

Nuclear Fuel Complex (NFC) - The Nuclear Fuel Complex (NFC), established in the year 1971 is a major industrial unit of the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India. The complex is responsible for the supply of nuclear fuel bundles and reactor core components for all the nuclear power reactors operating in India.

Nuclear Fuel Industries Ltd (NFI) - The company - jointly formed in July 1972 by the Furukawa Electric Co Ltd and Sumitomo Electric Industries Ltd - is engaged in the development, design and manufacture of both PWR and BWR fuel for light-water reactors (LWR). In addition, NFI's broad range of business lines include design and manufacture of nuclear fuel for research and testing reactors/advanced reactors, and fuel related equipment, as well as core management services.

Nuclear Fuel Services Inc (NFS) - The company operates one of only two privately- owned facilities in the US licensed by the Nuclear Regulator Commission (NRC) to store and process highly enriched uranium (HEU).

Silex Systems Ltd - Since 1992, this Australian company has been developing a laser-based isotope separation technology known as SILEX (Separation of Isotopes by Laser EXcitation). Site contains mostly corporate information and some background.

Studsvik - This is a high-tech company that focuses on the nuclear power industry and nuclear medicine. Business is conducted through four units: nuclear technology, waste and decommissioning, industrial services and nuclear medicine.

Thorium Power Inc - The company, previously known as Radkowsky Thorium Power Corp, is developing and licensing Radkowsky Thorium Fuel (RTF) - a non-proliferative fuel for nuclear power reactors.

TN International - The company - an AREVA subsidiary - provides comprehensive and tailor made solutions for all radioactive materials transportation and dry storage technologies, from package design to transport operations

TVEL - JSC TVEL was established on 12 September, 1996 by the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation. The company ensures performance of international obligations and safeguards in the field of nuclear technologies and controls the utilization of nuclear fuel as well as deliveries of the products of nuclear fuel cycle

United States Enrichment Corp (USEC) - The company operates the only uranium enrichment facility in the US and supplies approximately three- fourths of the domestic market and more than one-third of the world market.

Ural Electrochemical Integrated Plant (UEIP) - The company claims to be the largest uranium enrichment enterprise in the world. It is also a major designer and manufacturer of advanced process control instruments and systems for the nuclear industry.

Urenco Ltd - Urenco provides uranium enrichment service to nuclear power utilities worldwide. Urenco's plants employ the gas-centrifuge process, details of which are given on this site.
